The GM Family First Discount allows eligible GM employees and their eligible family members to purchase or lease eligible GM vehicles at a discounted price below the MSRP. Who Qualifies for the GM Family First Discount?
The GM Family First discount has three types of eligibility.
Current Employees
Active and retired GM and GM Financial Employees and their families. Active employees are allotted six program authorizations per calendar year. Eligible family members include:
- Spouse or domestic partner
- Children, stepchildren and children-in-law
- Grandchildren or step-grandchildren
- Grandparents (including in-law and step)
- Parents, stepparents, and parents-in-law
- Siblings (including full, half, step, and in-law)
- Aunts and uncles
- Nieces and nephews
Former Employees
Former GM hourly or salaried GM employees with five or more cumulative years of employment also qualify for the GM Family First discount.
Former employees with five to 20 years of employment can sponsor their spouse and dependent children who are under the age of 21 or full-time students under the age of 25.
Former employees with more than 20 years of employment can sponsor the same family members as current and retired employees.
Widows and Widowers of Former Employees
Widows and Widowers of former hourly or salaried GM employees with five or more cumulative years of service are eligible for the same discount as former employees.
