How To Make The Most of Chevrolet Super Cruise?

Super Cruise is the ultimate driving companion for those who value both safety and comfort. By utilizing state-of-the-art technologies such as OnStar®, real-time cameras, sensors, GPS, and LiDAR map data, Super Cruise can provide a hands-free driving experience like no other. With the ability to accurately detect curves in the road, long drives, and commutes, your daily drive has never been more comfortable. This feature is available on select Chevrolet models, such as the 2023 Bolt EUV, 2022 Silverado, 2023 Silverado LD, 2022 Bolt EUV, 2023 Tahoe, and 2023 Suburban. This feature will also be available on vehicles such as the 2024 Blazer EV, the 2024 Silverado EV, and the 2024 Equinox EV. Trust Super Cruise to help you arrive at your destination safely and in style.

Chevrolet Super Cruise is also available on select vehicles with features like lane-centering, OnStar emergency service and assistance, adaptive cruise control, lane change on demand, automatic lane change, and Super Cruise trailering.

To activate the Chevrolet Super Cruise, you'll need to have an OnStar Service Plan, and all Super Cruise-equipped vehicles include three years of connectivity to support functionality. After three years, the vehicle is required to have an eligible paid Super Cruise OnStar service plan. You'll also need to have active features to help control acceleration and braking and maintain a driver-selected following gap time. You'll need to have active features like forward collision alert and adaptive cruise control activated and teen driver technology turned off.

How To Use Super Cruise:

Step 1: To activate this feature, simply press the Adaptive Cruise Control button located on the steering wheel. Once activated, the Adaptive Cruise Control symbol will illuminate in white on the instrument cluster, indicating that you are ready for a smooth and effortless ride. If you have already set the Adaptive Cruise Control, the symbol will turn green and display your current speed.

Step 2: As soon as you hit a compatible road, pay attention, and meet all driving conditions, such as visible lane markings, GPS availability, and zero system faults, the Super Cruise symbol lights up in white on your instrument cluster.

Step 3: When you see the green symbol and steering-wheel light bar illuminate, you know it's safe to activate Super Cruise. Let the technology take over, and enjoy a truly effortless ride. Remember, never take your hands off the wheel unless the light bar is green. And if you want to disengage Super Cruise, press the button again or step on the brake pedal.

It's also important to know when not to use Super Cruise:

  • On a freeway or highway exit lane
  • If the road you're traveling is not a compatible road
  • When towing a trailer (unless your vehicle is equipped with Chevrolet Super Cruise trailering capability)
  • During unfavorable driving conditions
  • On a shoulder or service drive
  • When lane markings are poor, or visibility is limited
  • In unfavorable weather (i.e., snow, rain, ice, sleet, or fog)
  • In construction zones or tunnels

Super Cruise does not take complete control of the vehicle when activated and cannot avoid safety situations, objects, or road imperfections, so the driver should pay close attention when this feature is activated.
